Concomitant medical products: 459888 lead, implanted: (b)(6) 2019. Medtronic is submitting this report to comply with fda reporting regulations under 21 cfr parts 4 and 803. This report is based upon information obtained by medtronic, which the company may not have been able to fully investigate or verify prior to the date the report was required by the fda. Medtronic has made reasonable efforts to obtain more complete information and has provided as much relevant information as is available to the company as of the submission date of this report. This report does not constitute an admission or a conclusion by fda, medtronic, or its employees that the device, medtronic, or its employee caused or contributed to the event described in the report. Event Description
It was reported that the patient experienced a methicillin-sensitive staphylococcus aureus bacteremia infection. The cardiac resynchronization therapy pacemaker (crt-p) system was explanted and a temporary pacing lead was implanted and an external pulse generator (epg) was used. The patient was administered antibiotics.  no further patient complications have been reported as a result of this event.
