Event Description
|
Medtronic received information that after the use of a fusion oxygenator, the customer reported that when they were tearing down the circuit at the end of a case, it was observed that when the arterial temperature probe was removed, blood leaked out from the port.There was no patient impact associated with this event. additionally the surgeon was made aware of a possible contamination.Medtronic received additional information that there were no visible damage or crack to the port of the oxygenator.There was no visible air in system/tubing.There was minimal blood loss, approximately 5 mls and a transfusion was not required.
