Manufacturer Narrative

The complaint for inoperable ipg was confirmed. The ipg was able to communicate with a patient programmer. However, the ipg would not charge with the lab charging system. The ipg was functionally tested using autotest. The autotest test failed due to high current.Troubleshooting revealed that the inability to charge and high current was isolated to c52, a capacitor in the low battery/current measure circuit.Electrical testing confirmed capacitor c52 was degraded and resulted in the inability to charge the ipg. With capacitor c52 taken out of circuit, the ipg was able to charge normally. The ipg was functionally tested again using autotest and passed all test.Additionally, the device history record of the device was reviewed to confirm that all manufacturing steps were completed and there were no non-conformances noted that could have contributed to this issue.
