Event Description
|
Information was received from a patient's representative regarding an implantable neurostimulator (ins).The reason for call was caller reported patient (pt) has 2 inss due to: their doctor in duluth did one for each side and would not do anything differently.Caller said now, pt's left side ins will be removed due to difficulty with bacterial infection (already reported) and the neurosurgeon, plans to use just the right side stimulator in the future, the left side stimulator will be removed, they will wait a couple of months and then go back and reinstall an extension to the left side lead and run it down to the right side generator.Caller said they were calling to confirm the 37612 can have 2 extension/ leads and pt's right side- left side can have independent program options from one another.Confirmed information.Redirected to their doctor.

Event Description
|
It was reported that the device was explanted on (b)(6) 2022.The customer discarded the device following the explant procedure.The cause of the bacterial infection was unknown.The device was explanted and patient is being treated with antibiotics.The plan is to have the patient re-implanted once the patient has healed.
