Event Description
According to the reporter, the patient's 48 hour procedure and upon waking up they noticed pain in the chest.The patient experienced pain every time they swallowed their own saliva and was unable to eat solid food.An x-ray was performed and showed the capsule was still in place.They scheduled a procedure to remove the capsule and it was successful.The patient was in pain upon waking up and nauseous and informed it tore the esophagus wall and had to place clips to repair it.The patient was prescribed with pain medication.
