Event Description
|
According to the reporter, at the beginning of a laparoscopic tep (totally extraperitoneal) inguinal hernia repair, the balloon of the first device did not inflate; the surgeon could not squeeze the bulb and there was no air flow from the bulb to the balloon. The second device was opened, but it did not hold air; there was a hole in the balloon.A third device was opened, but it had the same issue as the first one.It was noted that there was a complete resistance. The surgeon performed a tapp (transabdominal preperitonea) instead where he did not need the balloon.
