Event Description
It was reported post implant of the cardiac resynchronization therapy pacemaker (crt-p) system that the patient developed a pleural effusion. The right atrial (ra) and right ventricular (rv) leads dislodged. The patient underwent emergency surgery for repair. The left ventricular (lv) lead also dislodged causing a coronary perforation distal to the location of the lv lead creating cardiac tamponade. The tamponade required a pericardial window to evaluate the blood. The lv remains in use.The ra and rv leads were explanted and replaced. No further patient complications have been reported as a result of this event.
