Event Description
|
Information was received from multiple sources (healthcare provider, clinical study) regarding a patient who was receiving unknown drug via an implantable pump for unknown indications for use.It was reported that the pump site had a 15x3cm eschar.The skin was irritated and edematous along with bruising.5cc of blood was aspirated.The pump site would be moved to the abdomen.

Additional information received from the healthcare provider (hcp) via company representative (rep) reported the patient arrived for their post-operation appointment and it was noted that the incision was poorly healing.On (b)(6) 2022, the pump was moved to a new location and the pump was replaced for prophylactic reasons as their was questionable exposure through the poorly healing incision.No suspected product issues per physician.It was reported that the issue was resolved at the time of report.The pump medication at the time of event was bupivacaine (1000 mg/ml at 1.498 mg/day) and fentanyl (1000 mcg/ml at 149.8 mcg/day).
