Event Description
Information was received from a healthcare provider regarding a patient who was receiving dilaudid (hydromorphone) and bupivacaine via an implantable pump for spinal pain.It was reported that the patient's pump had been alarming every 10 minutes for the past 6-7 days.The patient had not come in and her daughter did not want to drive her in, but wanted to know why the pump was alarming.The patient was advised to get the pump interrogated.It was verified the pump was updated at last refill on (b)(6) 2022.No patient symptoms or complications were reported.Additional information was received from a manufacturer representative (rep) on 2022-dec-21 regarding a patient who was hearing the critical alarm every 10 minutes.The rep stated that the healthcare provider (hcp) interrogated the pump and confirmed a safe state alarm and had gone into minimum rate mode.Alert message 225 was noted.No other events in the logs.The rep stated that hcp was able to reprogram the pump back to the normal infusion rate.No symptoms were reported.Additional information was received from a healthcare provider (hcp) via a company representative (rep) on 2022-dec-22 reporting the cause of the safe state alarm was not determined.The patient's weight was not provided.The patient's hcp was able to reprogram the to the desired infusion rate and update the pump successfully.
