Event Description
|
Information was received from multiple sources (manufacturer representative, healthcare provider) regarding a patient who was receiving an unknown drug via an implantable pump for unknown indications for use.It was reported that there was wound dehiscence at the pump pocket.No other signs or symptoms known at that time.It was unknown if there were any external factors that may have contributed to the issue.The physician assistant saw the patient in the clinic for follow up and noted the surgical incision was opening.The doctor noted that the "lateral edge opened up" and you "can see the pump".The physician explanted the pump and catheter.No further details were known at the time of the event. it was unknown if the issue was resolved.The patient's weight and medical history were asked but unknown.The patient status was alive - no injury.
