Information was received from multiple sources (manufacturer representative, healthcare provider) regarding a patient who was receiv ing unknown baclofen via an implantable pump for unknown indications for use.It was reported that the patient had a possible infection in the pump pocket.

Additional information received reported that it was not confirmed whether or not there was an infection in the pump pocket.This reporter was told by her physician that she was likely septic.The reporter was not aware if the issue is resolved but did know the patient's pump is still functioning and has not been explanted.

Additional information received from a health care provider (hcp) indicated that the patient's pump was explanted on (b)(6) 2023.A mdt representative was not present.It was further noted that the patient's date of death was (b)(6) 2023 and the cause of death was "natural-sepsis" by proteus vulgans bactermia.Additional information received from a health care provider (hcp) indicated that there was a possible infection from the pump.The hcp reported that the pathologist stated that they did see infection at the surgical site that could have caused sepsis.The patient was also noted to have pneumonia and a lot of other health issues.It was unclear if it was from the pump, but it was from the site where it was implanted as the surgical site was infected.
