Event Description
It was reported that the patient developed an implantable cardioverter defibrillator (icd) pocket infection with exposed device and leads and had purulent drainage.It was further reported that the device could not be removed.The physician opened and drained thecollected fluid in the device pocket, and the wound required dressing to manage the ongoing drainage and infection.The device system remains in use.No further patient complications have been reported as a result of this event.
