It was reported the external pacing generator (epg) appeared to be self-sensing.The physician noticed the device sensing immediately following a paced event. The epg did not reset the pacemaker timer and was capturing well. There were no other issues other than the over-sensing.It was recommended to return the device for service.Additionally, through follow-up this was noted to happen on multiple devices and it was explained that though atrial sensing during the blank out would be visually displayed on the generator, it would be responded to in terms of inhibiting the next generated beat.It was noted the logic behind this concept was understandable; however, it was commented that it is visually distracting. No patient complications have been reported as a result of this event.
