The pump has not been returned to animas for evaluation.If the device is returned, an evaluation shall be completed and a supplemental report will be filed.No conclusions can be made at this time.Animas has conducted a review of the device history record for this pump and confirmed that it was operating within required specifications at the time of release.
 
Event Description
On (b)(6) 2016, the reporter contacted animas, alleging a temperature (temp - moisture ingress) issue.This complaint is being reported because the reported issue was not resolved with troubleshooting.There was no indication that the device caused or contributed to an adverse event.
 
Manufacturer Narrative
Device evaluation: the device has been returned and evaluated by product analysis on (b)(6) 2016 with the following findings: black box shows evidence of excessive battery usage along with a voltage drop on (b)(6) 2016.The pump powers with returned battery cap.Battery cap is able to fully tighten.The battery compartment is intact.Pump case cracked in upper rh corner of display area.The current draws are not within specifications.A leak test shows leak at crack in pump case.Removed pump case.Evidence of moisture damage inside pump on cgm/transceiver board causing high current draws.Unplugged cgm/transceiver board and current levels returned to within specifications.Animas has conducted a review of the device history record for this pump and confirmed that it was operating within required specifications at the time of release.(b)(4).
