(b)(4).Diabetes mellitus is a known cause of seizures and hypoglycemia.
 
Event Description
Dexcom was made aware on (b)(6) 2017 that on (b)(6) 2017, the patient experience a seizure and a hypoglycemic event.The patient's mother reported that the patient suffered a seizure after having low blood sugar during the night.The patient's mother stated that the receiver did alert the patient for a low but the patient did not hear it.The patient's mother found the patient at 2 am and administered glucagon on (b)(6) 2017 to treat the seizure.At the time of contact, the patient was ok.There was no alleged device malfunction.No additional event or patient information was provided.
