Event Description
Information was received from a patient who was implanted with a neurostimulator for non-malignant pain. The patient stated that they use a cpap machine and one night 3-4 weeks ago they had the transformer box of the machine laying right up against their back and ended up with a burn around the entire implantable neurostimulator (ins) area and there was also a burn on their stomach so they were not sure if the burn was related to their ins.The burn turned into a blister and formed a scab. The patient was treated for a staph outbreak but the test ended up coming out negative. The patient stated that since the issue they are only feeling stimulation down their lower legs. Before, if the patient leaned forward they felt it get stronger all up their back. There were no trauma/falls related to the issue. The patient would follow up with their healthcare professional (hcp). No further complications were reported/are anticipated.
