Event Description
It was reported that a cleo® 90 infusion set cannula broke off from the infusion set during removal by the patient. The infusion set had been in use for three days. It was observed that only 1mm of the cannula remained on the infusion set. It was noted that there was a small red dot where the cannula had pierced the skin initially, similar to previous infusion set insertions. The patient's mother was unable to remove the cannula at home. The patient was taken to the doctor's office and a local anesthetic was administered to remove the cannula via tweezers. No permanent injury was reported. See mfr: 3012307300-2017-01075.
