It was reported that sometime after the patient's central venous catheter placement procedure (subclavian vein), the base of the catheter was turning on itself.Documentation identified a break in the silicone seal between the tubing, a jagged and torn break in the strain relief, and portions of the tubing where the adhesive had been detached.Information on whether the device was replaced was not provided.A section of the device did not remain inside the patient¿s body.The patient did not require any additional procedures due to this occurrence.According to the initial reporter, the patient did not experience any adverse effects due to this occurrence.
