(b)(4).The field service representative (fsr) verified that the water in the heater cooler was not cloudy or discolored.The fsr checked for dripping water and none was noted.The interior of the unit had no leaks.All modes of operation were working properly.The fsr suspected the high humidity and condensation was likely the cause of the water drip.The unit operated to the manufacturer¿s specifications.If additional information becomes available on this complaint that would alter the facts and/or conclusion, a supplemental report will be filed accordingly.

Event Description

It was reported that during set-up of the device for a cardiopulmonary bypass (cpb) procedure, the heater cooler had a leak and there was a slow drip from the bottom of the unit.The surgical procedure was completed successfully.There was no delay, no blood loss, nor adverse consequences to the patient.
