A medtronic representative went to the site to test the equipment.The representative was unable to replicate the reported issue.The hardware, software, and instruments passed the system checkout.The system was found to be fully functional.
 
Event Description
A site representative reported that, while in a functional endoscopic sinus surgery (fess), the instruments for the procedure stopped navigating between 1.5 to two hours into the procedure.It was reported that re-registration led to the instruments being unable to verify.It was reported that the site used one instrument tracker in the procedure and would switch it between instruments.There was a reported delay to the procedure of less than 1 hour due to this issue.There was no impact on patient outcome.No additional information was provided.

The hardware, software, and instruments passed the system checkout.The system was found to be fully functional.The emitter was returned to the manufacturer for analysis.The emitter was connected to a test system for a multi-day burn-in test.Flexing the cable did not indicate any intermittent opens.The device was found to be fully functional with no problem found.
