Patient information was unavailable from the site.Unique device identifier (udi) is unavailable.Device manufacture date is unavailable.A medtronic representative went to the site to test the equipment.It was reported that the cmos battery of the navigation system was replaced.The hardware, software, and instruments passed the system checkout.The system was found to be fully functional.The battery has not been received by the manufacturer for evaluation.
 
Event Description
A manufacturer representative reported that, while in a functional endoscopic sinus surgery (fess), the navigation system displayed that there was no input detected.Restarting the navigation system would temporarily restore functionality.Unrelated to the reported issue, the representative noted that the site was not following imaging protocols for the navigation system.It was also noted that the site did not shut down the navigation system properly when not in use.The surgeon opted to complete the procedure without the use of the navigation system.There was a reported delay to the procedure of less than 1 hour due to this issue.There was no reported impact on patient outcome.
