No patient information provided as no patient was involved in this concern.A medtronic representative went to the site to test the equipment.The representative uninstalled and reinstalled the software.The navigation system then passed the system checkout and was found to be fully functional.No parts have been received by the manufacturer for evaluation.
 
Event Description
Medtronic received information regarding a navigation device being used outside of a procedure.It was reported that the system shut itself down.It was noted that there were storms going through the area at the time.The software was uninstalled and reinstalled.The representative also notice that there was inaccuracy with a demonstration head from immediately before and after the software installation.There was no patient present when this issue was identified.
 
Manufacturer Narrative
The software investigation found that the reported event was related to a software issue.This issue was documented in a medtronic navigation software anomaly tracking database.
