Event Description
The consumer reported that the pain went away after about a year and a half so they had not been using the stimulator. The patient stated the last few weeks they had been having trouble with their back. The patient noted the recharger was 100% charged but the programmer was not working, it was showing the charge the implant screen.Poor communication was seen on the recharger and the patient was directed to follow-up with the healthcare provider for the suspected overdischarge. The change in therapy or symptoms was considered gradual. The last time the patient charged was about a year and a half ago.The indication for use was non-malignant pain.Additional information was received from a manufacturer representative (rep) via a healthcare professional (hcp) on (b)(6) 2018.The issue began on an unknown date in 2018.The rep was contacted by a hcp on (b)(6) 2018 indicating that the patient¿s battery would be replaced on (b)(6) 2018 at 10:45.The battery was only 3 years old. After the patient contacted the hcp they decided to replace the stimulator. There were no known causes that the rep knew of.The issue was not yet resolved but the patient was noted to be alive with no injury. No further complications were reported/are anticipated.
