No patient information provided as no patient was involved in this concern.A medtronic representative went to the site to test the equipment.Testing was unable to recreate the issue.The system passed the system checkout and was found to be fully functional.
 
Event Description
Medtronic received information regarding a navigation system being used outside of a procedure.It was reported that on (b)(6) 2018, the site loaded a patient exam and walked away from the system for a undisclosed amount of time.When they came back the system screen was black and was not responding.Site rebooted the system and screen was still black.They plugged the system into a different outlet and rebooted the system.System was then fully functional.There was not patient when the issue occurred.Site used the system for the planned surgery.
 
Manufacturer Narrative
A software analysis was initiated to determine the probable cause of the issue through log analysis.Analysis found that the reported event was related to a software issue.This issue was documented in a medtronic navigation software anomaly tracking database.
