Event Description
Information was received from a healthcare provider (hcp) of a clinical study regarding a patient with an implantable neurostimulator (ins).It was reported that the patient had worsening intermittent hallucinations in the hospital after removal of the device that were resolved by altering parkinson's drugs.Stalevo was exchanged for sinemet and their carbidopa-levodopa dose was decreased.The patient had significant improvement in mental status due to medication change.The patient was in rehabilitation due to impairment of mobility and self-care.The etiology was stated to be possibly related to their device or therapy, and not related to the implant procedure.The hallucinations were secondary to parkinson's.The event resolved without sequelae on (b)(6) 2018.No further complications were reported as a result of this event.
