Event Description
Information was received from a healthcare provider (hcp) regarding a patient receiving bupivacaine(. 5 mg/ml at an unknown dose) and morphine(10 mg/ml at 13 mg/day) via an implantable infusion pump. The indication for use was spinal pain. It was reported that the patient's drug dose has been increased since (b)(6) 2017; at that time the dose was 6. 599 mg/day. The caller stated that the pump was filled on (b)(6) 2018 and the dose was increased to 13 mg/day and since the increase the patient has fallen 4 times and was currently an inpatient at the hospital due to the falls. The caller stated that the family wanted to know if the pump was working and not delivering too much drug or that the drug was not too high. The caller reported that they would be calling the healthcare provider (hcp) who manages the pump. No further complications have been reported as a result of this event.
