Allegedly, it was reported by schipper et al in an article titled, "reduction in wound complications after total ankle arthroplasty using a compression wrap protocol" that a study was performed to evaluate the clinical differences in wound complications after total ankle arthroplasty (taa) between a cohort of patients that received a compression wrap protocol and a historical control group treated with cast immobilization.It was reported that 69 patients had varying degrees of wound complications.All were treated and the complication was resolved by final follow up.
