A doctor reported aseptic endophthalmitis in an eye following an intraocular lens (iol) implant procedure for four months.Antibiotics and steroids were given to the patient. The lens remains implanted.Since there are no findings of inflammation, the surgeon did not diagnose the symptoms as endophthalmitis. After iol insertion, there seemed to be a little postoperative inflammation observed by the doctor at a nearby clinic. The surgeon, however, considered that the observed postoperative inflammation had no causal relationship with iol.
