Investigation summary: a complaint history check was performed and this is the 1st related complaint for difficult to operate on lot # 7177921.Customer returned (93) 3/10cc, 8mm, 31g syringes (13 in open poly bags, 80 in sealed poly bags) with the shelf carton from lot # 7177921.Customer states that it was difficult to aspirate into the syringe.Thirty out of 93 returned syringes were tested (13 from open poly bags, 17 from the sealed poly bags) and all were able to draw and expel properly without any observed defects.A review of the device history record was completed for batch # 7177921 all inspections were performed per the applicable operations qc specifications.There were zero (0) notifications noted that pertained to the complaint.Investigation conclusion: bd was not able to duplicate or confirm the customer¿s indicated failure complaints received for this device and reported condition will continue to be tracked and trended.Information will be captured on trend reports and monitored monthly.Our business team regularly reviews the collected data for identification of emerging trends.Root cause description: root cause cannot be determined at this time as the issue is unconfirmed.Rationale: based on the investigation, no additional investigation and no capa is required at this time.

It was reported that bd ultra-fine¿ insulin syringe was difficult to operate or had restricted movement.No serious injury or medical intervention was reported.
