Event Description
The patient¿s attorney alleged a deficiency against the device.The product was used for therapeutic treatment of a hernia.It was reported that after implant, the patient experienced chronic wound infection with infected hernia mesh.Post-operative patient treatment included revision surgery/mesh removal.

This information was received as a part of an extensive mesh litigation submission to medtronic.The fda was notified of this large complaint receipt.Due to the volume of complaint information received by medtronic, this resulted in a report beyond the 30 day target.If information is provided in the future, a supplemental report will be issued.
 
Event Description
The patient¿s attorney alleged a deficiency against the device.The product was used for therapeutic treatment of a hernia.It was reported that after underlay implant, the patient experienced chronic wound infection with infected hernia mesh, fistula, chronic draining sinuses, adhesions, serosal tears, mesh falling apart and heavily degraded, scar, free pus, ileus, strep infection, and open wound.Post-operative patient treatment included revision surgery/mesh removal, debridement of abdominal wall incision, lysis of adhesions, enterorrhaphy, antibiotics, and wound vac.
