Event Description
|
Information was received from a consumer regarding a patient with an implantable neurostimulator (ins) for gastric stimulation.It was reported he was in extreme pain that he thought was coming from the device.The patient stated he went to the hospital on (b)(6) for the extreme stabbing pain around the implant.The patient noted they gave him levsin and ¿nothing for the pain¿.Additional information from the patient on (b)(6) reported their healthcare professional (hcp) was no longer available.The patient noted he was in a lot of pain and had spasms, he could not sleep on (b)(6) and when he turned he had pain.The patient stated he was in the hospital on (b)(6) because of the pain and they only gave him one percocet.The patient noted the pain began on the morning of (b)(6).There were no further complications that have been reported as a result of this event.

Additional information from the patient reported he contacted the healthcare professional (hcp), but that hcp was not taking his insurance.The patient stated they were frustrated and talked about having the implantable neurostimulator (ins) removed.It was reported the manufacture representative (rep) would contact the patient.There were no further complications that have been reported as a result of this event.
