Event Description
A journal article was reviewed that contained information regarding an implantable loop recorder (ilr). The author wrote about a case where there were alerts due to detected ventricular pauses.Additionally, the electrogram showed changes in the qrs axis compatible with alternating bundle branch block.Interrogation showed the alerts were due to intermittent under-sensing and the qrs axis changes were reproducible by positional changes of the breast. It was determined the ilr had been implanted in the breast. The device remains in use.Further follow up did not yet yield any additional information. No patient complications have been reported as a result of this event.
