Information was received from a healthcare professional (hcp) regarding a patient with an implantable neurostimulator (ins). It was reported that impedances went ¿way up¿ and it was discovered that there was fluid in the pocket that had infiltrated the connector block; it was noted to have been sterile inflammation in the pocket ¿ not an infection, but a sterile tissue reaction. There was tenderness at the site along with evidence seen on ultrasound of fluid in the pocket. The pocket was cleaned out, impedances were checked, the leads were disconnected from the ins, the ports/leads were dried out with suction and gauze, and the impedances were checked after and they were normal and everything was fine. The hcp could not remember if they kept the existing ins implanted or if they replaced it, and they could not recall the patient¿s name, but indicated it was about a year ago.No further complications were reported/anticipated.
