It was further reported that physician thought that the source of the infection was likely an abscess in the muscles in the pelvis region.The infection was considered to be secondary and unrelated to the procedure or products used.

Event Description
It was reported that the patient's cardiac resynchronization therapy defibrillator (crt-d) system was removed due to the patient having septicemia and bacteremia.Vegetation was observed on the leads and blood cultures tested positive for enterococcus faecalis.A left iliopsoas muscle abscess was also observed.It was noted that the patient experienced generalized weakness.A replacement system was placed a few days later with an antibacterial absorbable envelope.The patient is a participant in the post approval clinical surveillance product surveillance registry.No further patient complications have been reported as a result of this event.
