Event Description
Patient undergoing a total hip replacement.Screw inserted into the acetabular shell prosthesis.Good fixation.When withdrawing the screwdriver the head had sheared from the main body of the screw.No injury or detriment to patient.Decision taken by operating consultant to leave the remainder of the screw due to the good fixation.
