Information was received from a healthcare professional (hcp).
The patient was receiving 20mg/ml morphine at a rate of 10.
329 mg/day via implanted infusion pump.
it was reported that, during a refill, the hcp was able to aspirate all of the residual drug out of the reservoir; however, the hcp met resistance at 33 ml when filling a 40 ml pump.
All of those 33 ml were able to be successfully aspirated out of the pump, but then only 32 ml could be filled.
It was determined that the reservoir valve was locked, but the hcp had already updated the pump to reflect the 32ml and had taken the needle out.
Further troubleshooting was planned for the next refill.
