According to Section 409(h)(1)(C) of the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act, food contact substance notifications (FCNs) are effective only for the listed manufacturer and its customers. Other manufacturers must submit their own FCN for the same food contact substance and intended use.

Food Contact Substance: Blocked IPDI polymer consisting of trimer, pentamer, heptamer, and nonamer oligomers, with the primary component of interest being the trimer (CAS Reg. No. 103170-26-9).

Manufacturer/Supplier: Sherwin-Williams Company
Intended Use: As a monomeric component in polyester urethane coatings for use on metal substrates, at a maximum concentration of 8.2 percent (weight solids).
Limitations/Specifications*: The FCS may be used in contact with all food types, except infant formula, under Conditions of Use A through H, as described in Tables 1 and 2.
