Title:
Bioaccumulation and subcellular partitioning of zinc in rainbow trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss): Cross-talk between waterborne and dietary uptake.
Authors:
Sappal R, Burka J, Dawson S, Kamunde C
Drug:
Zinc
Fish species:
Trout, rainbow
Date:
2009
Sample:
blood, plasma
Ave Weight (gm):
14
Ave Water temp (°C):
11.75
Water:
Freshwater
Dosage:
0.150 mg/L+1.5 mg/kg 40d
Route:
BATH/PO
Comments:
Fish were euthanized with an overdose of 150 mg/L MS-222. Waterborne Zn exposure appeared to stimulate gowth while dietary Zn exposure inhibited growth. Waterborne uptake dominated Zn accumulation in plasma as this concentration is comparable to the waterborne treatments.
