*see comment
Route:
BATH
Comments:
Dose-70 mg/L for 5 min, then 35 mg/L for 30 min, *metabolites were observed in all tissues at 0 h and 4 h depuration; Residues - 0 h depuration= 72.0 ppm, 4 h= 556.0, 25 h = 387.0, 480 hr = 6.6. During depuration the concentration of radioactivity fell rapidly in all tissues and fluids but bile - reaching about 1 % or less of the 0 depuration time by 25 hr. Starting at about 25 h depuration, residue concentration in all tissues and fluids sampled appeared to enter log-linear phase having half-life of about 8 d, Benzocaine (14C)
Metabolites:
Acetylated benzocaine, acetyl-p-aminobenzoic acid*
