Drug:
Benzocaine

Ave Water temp (°C):
25
Water:
Freshwater
Dosage:

Route:
BATH
Comments:
Dose-70 mg/L for 5 min, then 35 mg/L for 30 min, the conclusion was that the rate of loss of benzocaine and acetylated benzocaine from fillets was not dependant on temperature (16 or 25); benzocaine concentrations were near or below the limit of quantitation by 12 h after exposure, see chart on pg 34, Benzocaine ng/g 0h=38885, depuration - 1 h=9820, 12 hr = 84. Acetylated benzocaine 0 h= 820, depuratation 1 h= 620, 12 h=24. Benzocaine (14C). Appears to have a tri-phasic depletion.
Metabolites:
Acetylated benzocaine
