Salmonxanthin was the most abundant carotenoid. Skin carotenoid significantly higher in fish fed higher carotenoid diet than low carotenoid diet. No significant correlation between skin carotenoid concentration and the mass of astanxanthin per egg or mass of retinoid per egg. No relationship observed between skin brightness and skin carotenoid concentration or between skin hue and skin carotenoid concentration.
