Event Description
It was reported that on monday the prime implantable neurostimulator (ins) reached normal battery life.Instead of replacing the ins, the healthcare provider(hcp) removed the ins and connected the lead wires to patient's (pt) existing rechargeable ins.No allegations made about this process.Tuesday the ins battery was 75%,then on wednesday the ins battery dropped to low.Pt charged for 1.5 hours to 75%, later caller said that pt charged to 100% yesterday and that today it had already dropped down to 50%.Patient services (ps) reviewed battery quartiles verses individual % and reviewed how the ins is not using the power that the 2nd stimulator had been providing before which may impact battery.Pss redirected to hcp to check device and programming/optimize if possible. No symptoms were reported.

Event Description
Additional information was received from a manufacturer representative (rep) reporting the cause was never determined. It was confirmed with the programmer the cs used that impedances were normal at battery replacement. The patient was reprogrammed and is doing well, however, the issue was never corrected and a new polarity using same cathode is being used.
