Event Description
|
The patient was undergoing a coil embolization procedure in the left renal artery branch using ruby coils and a lantern delivery microcatheter (lantern).During the procedure, the ruby coil was advanced to the target vessel and subsequently re-positioned.It was reported that the physician was not satisfied with the ruby coil's placement in the vessel; therefore, the ruby coil was removed. While attempting to re-sheath the ruby coil on the back table, the coil detached from its pusher assembly. Therefore, the ruby coil was no longer used. The procedure was completed using a new ruby coil and the same lantern. There was no report of an adverse effect to the patient.
