Event Description
It was reported that a female patient ((b)(6)) with history of hypertension and failed previous cardioversion underwent atrial fibrillation (afib) ablation procedure with thermocool® smart touch® sf bi-directional navigation catheter and suffered sinus block requiring hospitalization and medication.It was reported that during an afib case.The patient went into a junction rhythm at approximately 75 beats per minute and the case was aborted.The patient was transferred for observation to see if sinus rhythm returns.The event occurred during use of biosense webster (bwi) products.The physician believed he burned ¿one too many¿ lesions in the area of the superior vena cava/right atrium (svc/ra) junction.The patient did not require surgical intervention.They were given atropine and isoprel during the procedure after incident occurred.The patient had fully recovered as of (b)(6) 2020.Physician stated that patient had return of baseline sinus node function.Pt was in the hospital as of the morning of (b)(6) 2020.The procedure was wednesday, (b)(6) 2020.It is unknown if this qualifies as an extended hospitalization to these doctors for this particular patient.The event is coded as ¿(b)(4)¿.
