Event Description
It was reported that a female patient underwent a cardiac ablation procedure with a thermocool® smart touch® sf bi-directional navigation catheter and suffered diaphragmatic paralysis (phrenic nerve paralysis) requiring no interventions.During superior vena cava (svc) isolation while ablating at 20 watts for 14 seconds, phrenic nerve paralysis was observed.No medical/surgical intervention was required.The patient was put in observation and its condition gradually improved.No prolonged hospitalization was required.Physician¿s opinion regarding the cause of the adverse event is that it was procedure related.Patient had fully recovered from the event.No bwi product malfunctions were reported.No further information is available.
