|
It was reported that the patient had a cardioversion today is unable to communicate w/ ins post procedure.Patient attempted to communicate using handset and then the rep was called to assist.They are unable to communicate w/ ins and get device not found message.The cardioversion today, the caller reported burn marks near the ins location.The patient has had previous cardioversions, and one occurred last week with no communication issues.

It was reported that the patient had a cardioversion today.The patient and manufacturer representative (rep) were unable to communicate with the implantable neurostimulator (ins) post procedure using handset and got device not found message.There was no success after two attempts to reset the ins.They also reported burn marks near the ins location from the cardioversion.The patient has had previous cardioversions, and one occurred last week with no communication issues.The patient has turned off the ins during the cardioversion procedures and indicated that both times, the power was at 200 jules.Last week wednesday, the paddle was off battery middle of chest about 4" away.This morning, the rep can see the paddle sticker outline on the patient's skin from where it was placed and it was up against the outline of the battery.Ins replacement was recommended.

Additional information received from the manufacturer¿s representative (rep) reported they covered the replacement procedure on (b)(6) after the cardioversion on (b)(6).The rep was trying to obtain additional information from the patient, and was waiting for a call back.

Information was received from a consumer, via the manufacturer¿s representative (rep), who reported the cardioversion performed on (b)(6) 2021 was the second cardioversion the patient had (unknown when the first took place).A different physician performed the first cardioversion and ¿made sure to place the pads on the sternum instead of the right chest¿ as with the most recent cardioversion the pads were placed over the neurostimulator.Following the cardioversion there were no marks or burns, but there was bruising in the general area due to blood thinners the patient was taking at that time.
