It was reported that on (b)(6) 2016, a 23mm sjm trifecta valve was implanted in the patient's aortic position. On an unknown date, the patient was referred for a valve-in-valve procedure due to cardiac insufficiency and aortic regurgitation due to structural valve deterioration/suspected leaflet tear, which was performed on (b)(6) 2021.A non-abbott device was successfully implanted within the trifecta valve. It was reported that the trifecta valve was torn on the left coronary cusp (lcc) and the right coronary cusp (rcc) sides. On (b)(6) 2021, the patient was discharged home in stable condition.

Manufacturer Narrative
|
An event of tears on the left and right coronary cusps, aortic regurgitation, cardiac insufficiency, and structural valve deterioration was reported.A more comprehensive assessment could not be performed as a valve-in-valve procedure was performed and the device was not accessible for analysis. The device history record was reviewed to ensure that each manufacturing and inspection operation was performed and the product met all specifications.Based on the information received, the cause of the reported incident could not be conclusively determined.
