Event Description
According to the reporter, after approximately a year after the laparoscopic surgery, the patient complained of pain.The hospital did an x-ray and found a small metal pin in the patient's abdominal cavity.The pin was removed from the patient.

Event Description
According to the reporter, 224 days post-operative of a total laparoscopic hysterectomy where an endoscopic grasper was used, the pa tient complained of right side pelvic and right lower back pain.Due to the symptoms, the hospital performed an x-ray and found a small metal pin in the patient's pelvic cavity.A computed tomography (ct) scan was done after 7 days which indicated that the device was extraluminal.37 days later, the patient underwent a surgical procedure to remove the 5mm pin.The same piece was found when another endoscopic grasper was checked.

Event Description
The patient¿s attorney alleged a deficiency against the device.The product was used for a total laparoscopic hysterectomy where an endoscopic grasper was used.224 days post-operatively, the patient complained of right side pelvic and right lower back pain.Due to the symptoms, the hospital performed an x-ray and found a small metal pin in the patient's pelvic cavity.A computed tomography (ct) scan was done after 7 days which indicated that the device was extraluminal.37 days later, the patient underwent a surgical procedure to remove the 5mm pin.The same piece was found when another endoscopic grasper was checked.It was reported that after use, the patient experienced a retained screw broken off of device, pain, failure of device, abdominal and pelvic pain, difficulty defecating, sharp spasms, difficulty breathing and presyncope, suffering, loss of quality of life, fear and worry, fainting, vaginal pain, vaginal discharge, vaginal bleeding, dysuria, oozing pus, postprocedural wound cellulitis, weakness, lightheadedness, anxiety, interrupted sleep, foreign body, blood in urine, difficulty urinating, constipation, discolored discharge, redness and discoloration, nausea, discomfort, lower back pain, and nerve pain.Post-operative patient treatment included revision surgery, removal of retained pin, medications, x-ray, and ct scan.
