|
It was reported that during use of the device for cardiopulmonary bypass (cpb), the pump gave a backflow alarm while flow was around 2000 liters per minute (l/min).The case was continued with the pump.The surgical procedure was completed successfully.There was no delay, no blood loss, nor adverse consequences to the patient.

Per clinical review: on 22apr2022, the team at the user facility experienced a problem with their heart lung machine while on cardiopulmonary bypass whereby the pump was giving a backflow alarm while they had forward flow.There was no change out, no delay, and no blood loss, and the surgery was completed successfully with no adverse event.
