Event Description
|
It was reported that the patient used their programmer to check their rechargeable ins (implantable neurostimulator) and it turned the ins off causing a dystonic storm.The patient and mother were adamant that they did not turn the ins off using the programmer.Physician is going to go through with a battery replacement due to declining cognitive ability of the patient per caller.Caller stated the report was checked yesterday by the hcp and it was noted the ins did not drop to 0% so that did not turn stim off.Additional information was received from the manufacturer's representative (rep) who reported that the physician stated the patient has declining cognitive ability due to the patient's disease state, and not related to the dbs therapy.Therapy was turned back on by the patient's family and the dystonia storm resolved.

Additional information was received from the manufacturer's representative (rep) who reported that the ins was explanted yesterday.The caller reported the ins was turning stimulation off by itself, caller believed patient was turning stimulation off.
